Brisbane found us taking another free walking tour. I highly recommend taking them in cities you're exploring. They are so informative, plus you get all your steps in for the day for sure!
One of our stops was at this little cathedral
And you all maybe had a question in your mind about Stephen marrying Kelli and Kyle? Ha!
We went to City Hall and someone was practicing playing the organ which filled the whole place with music.
Then there was what used to be a movie theater. Kind of looks like an opera house now, doesn't it?
We saw so much more! This is just an awesome trip and we're finding that Australian people are just as nice as in New Zealand.
We then hopped a ferry to South Bank. It is a hopping little area of Brisbane with not only many restaurants, but with 2 pools right in the center of the whole thing, one with a sandy beach setting and one without.
We ate lunch at the Brooklyn Depot. Yes, we're in Australia but check this out!
Kind of an inside out pizza burger, pulled pork and lobster mac and cheese. Yum!
You could take a stroll through the arbor:
Walk along the water:
OR there was a Market going on that was all up and down this one long street. I am excited for 2 reasons. 1) I found an ice tea! If you know me, you know how much this means to me. We can't figure out why this is such a foreign concept in different countries. I guess first, because they don't believe all that much in ice, period, and second, they kind of think it's sacrilege to put ice in what, to them, is a perfectly good hot beverage. Sigh. And 2) We bought a really cool piece of art. We have taken to buying art during our travels and when I found this photo on metallic paper with beautiful colors, I immediately fell in love! Bruce just was shaking his head as to how in the world were we going to get it back with us. My only comment (as I handed it to her to ring up) was, "We carried two very heavy pieces of Murano glass all through Europe and clear back with us from Venice! Surely we can get THIS back!"
